Frequently Asked Questions

When will LCA open?

Legacy Christian Academy will open fall of 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year.

Legacy Christian Academy is currently accepting names and information from interested families.

As enrollment specifics are completed, families on our interest list will be contacted first.

What is a covenant school?

Legacy Christian Academy is a covenant school that serves Christian families. This means that at least one parent in each family has a personal relationship with Christ and is involved in a local church.

A covenant school partners with families and their churches to grow and nurture the faith and Christian walk of their children.  This covenant relationship provides a consistent commitment to the truth of scripture whether the child is at home or at school.

Will LCA be licensed & accredited?

We will be licensed with the Nevada Department of Education as an Exempt Private School under NRS 394.211.

We are in the process of hiring certified licensed teachers and staff.  We are a member of ACTS and intend to pursue accreditation with this agency. For more information about ACTS, go to our resources page.

What curriculum will you use?

We will be using BJU Press for our curriculum.

BJU Press publishes academically rigorous Christian textbooks that teach a biblical worldview and encourage critical thinking.

Will LCA offer before & afterschool programs?

We will not offer a before school program, but we will offer both an onsite afterschool program and an offsite partnership with The Bridge Church's Bridge Kids program.

We will have more specifics about these programs late spring of 2022.

Will students take standardized testing?

LCA will administer both formative and summative classroom assessments.

We will also administer a nationally norm-referenced test. The test that will be administered will be selected in the spring of 2022.

What is a Biblical Worldview?

A Biblical worldview (or a Christian worldview) is a worldview based on God’s unchanging, inerrant Word. It is the framework of ideas and beliefs through which a Christian individual, group or culture interprets the world and interacts with it.

Since God is the Creator of everything in heaven and earth, He is the standard for truth. God is all-powerful,  all-knowing, and unchanging.

Does our family need to agree with ALL aspects of LCA's Statement of Faith?

Yes. LCA partners with families to provide an excellent learning environment, where a Biblical worldview is emphasized in every aspect of the learning experience. This includes our Statement of Faith.

In turn, by partnering with LCA, parents/guardians commit to upholding these standards of faith and practice outside of LCA, allowing students the best opportunity for a transformative educational experience.

Do you follow the Common Core Standards?

Legacy Christian Academy will not follow the Common Core Standards. We will follow a standard aligned with Biblical Truth and academic excellence.

We will teach our students according to best practices, Biblical Truth and the unique needs of our students as they seek God's purpose and plan for their lives.

What will tuition be and is there financial assistance?

The tuition for the 2022-2023 school year will be announced when we open admissions and enrollment for families on our interest list in March and on our site after that.

Legacy Christian Academy is committed to working with families individually to ensure that a Christian education for their children is within their means.  We will be pursuing both in house and outside tuition assistance options and funding for families.

Is Legacy affiliated with a church?

LCA is not affiliated with any one particular church in our area or a specific Christian denomination. Students and families are requested to sign a Statement of Faith prior to enrollment and annually thereafter.

It is our goal to partner with churches in our area through education as they disciple their congregations.

Will students wear uniforms?

Yes, students will be required to wear uniforms.

LCA will research quality and cost friendly uniform options for our families. This information will be available in the spring of 2022.
